Anneliese Louise van der Pol American actress and singer. After an early career in musical theatre, she was cast as Chelsea Daniels in the Disney Channel Original Series That’s So Raven, a role that gained her renown among young audiences. Van der Pol also has a career as a singer, and has recorded several songs for The Walt Disney Company. Beauty and the Beast is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton, based on the 1991 Disney film of the same name. Van der Pol appeared in the role of “Belle” in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, beginning on April 3, 2007. She is the final actress to play the role on Broadway before it closed after 13 years on July 29.
